Notes from the field

Just a couple of photos today. First up, the brick making process in going full bore:

Quality-wise, they’re not aesthetically appealing, and a real brick maker would probably recoil in horror, not to mention be aghast at the slow pace (good ones can crank one out every 4 seconds), but they’ll work. And it’s neat that they’re doing basically the same process that people have been using for thousands of years to create building materials.

These next two are a fossil shell that I collected the other day. I’m coming up empty on an identification, so if anyone there has an idea, sling ‘em at me.
