Dig diaries bring the nuts and bolts work of archaeology to life. The Tell el Basta team are back in the field in Egypt’s Delta, and are updating their blog with news of the current season.
Tell el Basta is is a joint mission of the EES, the University of Göttingen and the MSA. The Tell el Basta blog has provided great coverage of the team’s work during the Spring and Autumn/Fall seasons, during which they have been focusing their attention on the Temple of Bastet, the “Dromos” (made famous by Herodotus) and an area of auxiliary temple buildings known as Area A.
The most recent post looks at small finds from the site. The blog has been updated several times this year, covering both of the 2012 seasons, with some great insights into the Delta site, accompanied by some terrific photographs.
There’s more information about the site on the EES website.
