Live. . . .from the Fayum!

Filed under: Field photos — acagle @ 11:04 am

Hey ArchaeoPeeps, I am typing this from the field house in the the Fayum. I bought an Internet stick for my Macbook and we have coverage out here. We drove out this afternoon and most of the camp was set up. It’s a nice big field house with several rooms — like 10 altogether — and a row of rooms out back and also a bunch of tents, one of which is occupied by yours truly:

Not overly large, but I can stand up in it. It’s pretty hot during the day but so far it’s cooling off nicely. No work until Thursday, although we may go out to the site and look around.

I broke with tradition and had a gin and tonic on the roof at sunset. So sue me.
