Egypt is now in the cards

Filed under: Egypt — acagle @ 8:54 am

Just made flight reservations, leaving early October, returning early December. Yikes! That’s coming up soon.

Interesting flight stuff. The most cost-effective went through Dubai on Emirates which was kind of cool. . . .but it had a 20-hour layover! Instead, I have gone through NYC and thence to Cairo on EgyptAir (aka, EgyptScare) which is what I did last time and that way the whole thing is only 20 hours total. EgyptAir wasn’t actually too bad, I must admit. So, away we go!

And for your enjoyment, Andie posted this article on The Rules of Cairo Traffic.

  2. Ah, ‘fraid not, I don’t get in until the 8th or so.

Back in 2003 both flights on EgyptAir were pretty good, IIRC. At least the one back top NYC was decent (i.e., entirely uneventful). I think they got the ‘Scare’ part from my colleagues because they used to have to fly over a military base on the way to Luxor and consequently always did an approach that was very steep and fast.
