FYI, the 1948 diary that I had been entering as part of my own diaryaing has been accepted into the collections of the Museum of History and Industry. I’ve become quite fond of Lillie May, but I don’t think I would have been a good steward of her diary. I enjoyed going through it, but I doubt it would be a regular item on my reading list and I’d probably just end up trying to sell it at my own estate sale someday, and it could very well go unwanted and end up in the trash (as it probably would have at the last one, had it not been for me). Hence, it should be well cared for and available to the public for some time to come.
Thanks, Lillie; your life — or one slice of it anyway — will gain some measure of immortality here on the Internets and in the Museum.
