Into the field

Filed under: Blogging update — acagle @ 7:11 pm

Again. Tomorrow I must arise at around half past FRICKIN’ DARK and head out to catch a ferry to the San Juans for a bit of survey. Happily, the weather is bee-yoo-tiful so at least it will be a pretty trip. I might even find something this time, although it would be something that’s already been found, that being a shell midden. Someone else did a survey on the property in 2006 and found shell midden near the shoreline, and I will be looking back from it a bit. I’m kind of not expecting to find anything, but one never knows.

Admittedly, it’s kind of pleasant in some ways to leave the house at like 4:30 because the roads are relatively free of traffic and all is quiet — not dark though, the sun rises at 5 these days — so it’s not all bad.

Will definitely have more photos tomorrow, provided I get back at a reasonable hour.
